With the transition from the information/knowledge economy to the creative economy, it's more important than ever to make sure our kids are ready to compete in the workforce. The reality is that the schools are not preparing them so it falls on the community (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc) to mentor them.
So what are some tools and approaches to helping our kids discover and nurture their creative interests?

Phil,
Thanks for another great post.
I’d be very interested in the teaching methods you used for your son that is a tactile learner. We have 3 kids – all very different – and one of them seems to fit this model and we have been struggling with him for a while now.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Barry …
It took us a lot of trial and error … Such as discovering manipulatives for math so that he could “construct” the answer. He recently graduared from college (so there us hope!) … It’s been a few years and I dont recall the names of the tools or materials. I’ll ask my wife for the details and post it.
